You expect more road accidents when the weather turns bad, especially when ice coats the roads, but the pileup with two dozen or more cars on the Bronx River Parkway was something else.
The snow and ice was our first real taste of winter, and a perfect time to get ready for it.
AAA offers a host of tips for staying safer, and avoiding driving headaches. Some are no-brainers: Make sure you’re rested, and always use your seat belt. Others are less obvious. One example: Keep at least a half-tank of gas to prevent the fuel line from freezing.
